Yale: Stone & Shadow
New Haven, USA
A Collegiate Gothic walk across Yale, tracing how the university deliberately built itself a 600-year-old past in the 1920s \u2014 acid-aged stone, a tower raised a foot for every year of its history \u2014 and then, one block away at the Beinecke, finally stopped pretending. From Old Campus and Harkness Tower through Sterling Library and the Law School's owls, the route ends at the modernist marble box that broke the spell. A direct sibling to Princeton's Stone & Spire.
