University City: Beyond the Gates

A neighborhood walk beyond the Penn and Drexel gates, across the University City section of West Philadelphia. From the grand Beaux-Arts 30th Street Station and Drexel's hilltop park, through the Science Center innovation quarter, down to William Hamilton's 18th-century Woodlands estate, the Victorian streetcar suburb of Spruce Hill, the Baltimore Avenue strip, and Clark Park with its rare Dickens statue \u2014 ending west at the Paul Robeson House, home of the great singer, athlete, and activist.
