From College Hall's Victorian serpentine stone (1872) to Frank Furness's astonishing 1891 Fine Arts Library, through Irvine Auditorium's fantasy Gothic and Houston Hall (the first student union) to the Cope & Stewardson Quadrangle — the firm behind Princeton's Blair Hall — the route ends at Louis Kahn's 1961 Richards Medical Labs, a landmark leap into modernism. A century of architectural argument in a few blocks.
