A campus-plus-city walk down College Hill into historic Providence. From Prospect Terrace's overlook and the tomb of Roger Williams \u2014 who founded Rhode Island for freedom of conscience \u2014 down past the First Baptist Church in America (1775) and the RISD Museum, along Benefit Street's 'Mile of History' of colonial and Federal houses, to the Providence Athenaeum (of Poe-and-Whitman fame), the Stephen Hopkins House, and the John Brown House (the merchant family's grandeur and its slave-trade ties), ending down at the river where the city stages WaterFire.
